The Rev. Deirdre A. Eckian

Ms. Eckian has served as Assistant to the Rector at Christ Church, Georgetown since May 2006.   In addition to preaching and pastoral care, Deirdre oversees and provides leadership for the 20’s and 30’s Fellowship, Small Group Studies, and Communications.

Deirdre attended seminary at Berkeley Divinity School at Yale.  Prior to seminary, she worked with persons with severe mental illnesses as a case manager and vocational specialist.  Deirdre served from 1997–98 in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, a transformational faith-based service program.  Deirdre and her husband, James Leslie, live in the Glover Park neighborhood of northwest Washington.
