Youth Ministry & Education
Youth programming at Christ Church provides Christian Education, fellowship, service, and Spiritual Exploration opportunities for young people in 6th through 12th grades. The continued spiritual education and formation of our middle school and high school youth lies at the heart of our identity as a parish community. Through Sunday morning classes, monthly fellowship gatherings, local service opportunities, mission trips, and pilgrimage, youth are engaged to study and reflect upon Scripture as they develop a growing sense of how to shape their lives according to Jesus' teachings and example.
To best serve the needs of all ages and create space for relationships to thrive, youth are divided into groups:
- 6th and 7th graders are meeting weekly on the second floor of the church building.
- 8th and 9th graders are meeting weekly on the second floor of the church building.
- 10th and 12th graders are meeting the last Sunday of the month in the Auditorium. In between these monthly fellowship and discussion gatherings, older high shcoolers are encouraged to become involved in the ministries of the parish -- many teach Sunday School, serve as acolytes, and/or are involved with soup kitchen/grate patrol.
Each group is led by a team of three to four volunteer leaders from the parish and the Youth Missioner. The 10:00 a.m. Sunday School classes are held according to these groups, as are certain (though not all) additional programs and fellowship events. Please mark your calendars for the following events. Those specific to one age group are identified accordingly.
