Rite-13
Classes for our junior and senior high school students meet on Sunday mornings from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m. during the academic year and use the Journey to Adulthood formation program. The Rite-13 youth group is the first stage of the Journey to Adulthood curriculum. Youth enter this program in the sixth and seventh grades and remain in this youth group for two years. Our Rite-13 youth are honored at yearly liturgies that celebrate their entrance into young adulthood.
The parish community reaffirms its commitment to support these young men and women during their adolescent years as they continue to grow in faith and discipleship. The Rite-13 youth also enjoy fun gatherings and outings, such as "Second Sundays", an afternoon program of fellowship, service, and worship. Second Sundays in 2010-2011 include ministry with the homeless, ice skating, a retreat and game nights.
Rite-13 Sunday morning lessons in 2010-2011 focus on the life of Jesus, prayer and interactive lessons focusing on key biblical figures. You can register your son or daughter for Rite-13 by contacting the Rev. Christopher Garcia, Assistant to the Rector for Youth and Family Ministries at Christopher@christchurchgeorgetown.org.
