Helping Our Brothers and Sisters Displaced by Pakistan’s Flood After three weeks of the heaviest monsoon rains in 35 years, over a third of Pakistan is now under water.  This flooding is the worst natural disaster in the country’s history.  The death toll has reached over 1,600 and 2 million people are homeless.  Episcopal Relief and Development will be coordinating their efforts with the ACT (Action by Churches Together) Alliance’s relief efforts.  Disaster response activities will help vulnerable people in the provinces of Khyber-Pakhtoonkhwa, Balochistan, and Sindh.  ACT is an alliance of 100 churches and church-related organizations that work together in humanitarian assistance and development.  Contributions can be made out to Christ Church, Georgetown, with a notation “Pakistan Flood Assistance” or sent directly to Episcopal Relief and Development (www.er-d.org).
