Resident Sexton (full-time)
Samuel Wimbley was born in Birmingham, Alabama, but spent most of his childhood in Tallahassee, Florida. He received a B.A. degree from Florida A & M University with a major in psychology . Before joining the staff at Christ Church in 2006 Samuel taught a course in Environmental Education for D.C. high school students at Camp Letts in Edgewater, Maryland. He also taught tennis for the D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation and still is a regular tennis player.
Samuel is primarily responsible for maintenance at the Parish Hall. He also covers week-end and week-night events at the parish, including Sunday services and Coffee Hours. As Resident Sexton, Samuel lives on site and is responsible for security. He manages the inventory of electrical supplies and food staples such as coffee, tea, and sugar.
