The Reverend Dr. Karin J. Ekholm, Assistant to the Rector

The Rev. Dr. Karin Ekholm was born and grew up in Austria and Germany and has lived in the UK and Egypt. She discerned a call to the priesthood after nearly two decades of academic research and teaching undergraduate and graduate students at universities including Cambridge in the UK and St John’s here in Annapolis. She holds a Ph.D. in History and Philosophy of Science, and in the spring of 2024, she completed a Master of Divinity degree at Virginia Theological Seminary. She was ordained to the Sacred Order of Priests on June 15th and is delighted to begin serving as Assistant to the Rector at Christ Church in August. In her free time, she enjoys reading, running, and spending time outdoors and at museums with her twelve-year-old son, Marco.
