Women's Ministry

Our Women's Ministry offers an experience of God's Grace and thus is a place of grace through three essential avenues: Faith formation, friendship, and service.  Within and above all three, we, "... put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.' (Col. 3:14) forming a most warm and authentic sisterhood in Christ.  For more information, contact Chrissy Casey.

Friendship and Conversation

Whether we’re discussing Scripture, life’s joys and struggles, or personal stories, the Women of Christ Church, Georgetown value the power of authentic conversation and the wisdom that comes from listening, sharing, and praying together.

The 2nd Wednesday of each month will be reserved for food, fellowship, and an opportunity to create lasting bonds in a hectic schedule with so many demands on our time. Women of Christ Church are invited to join clergy and staff for this opportunity to visit and support one another in faith and friendship in a relaxed setting. Inviting family and friends is always encouraged!

Faith in Action

Christ Church is pleased to announce a newly-formed partnership with REACT DC. Founded in September 2021 by military spouses and veterans seeking to assist Afghan allies in the midst of a humanitarian crisis, REACT is now at the forefront of innovative resettlement support operations, leading national and regional programs to support and improve outcomes for refugee populations. Beginning this fall, parishioners will have the opportunity to provide families with essential support through traditional reception and resettlement efforts such as meeting families at the airport, transporting them to their lodging, assisting with grocery runs, and contributing to REACT’s resettlement wishlist. For more information, contact Youth and Family Minister Chrissy Casey.

Sunday Bag Lunches | Making '50 Lunches to Go' for our mission partner, Georgetown Ministry Center: Each Sunday various parish life groups and ministries take turns preparing nutritious lunches for our neighbors in need at GMC. Email Chrissy Casey for more information.

Feeding Ministry: Christ Church’s Feeding Ministry will next provide a meal to those in need on Sunday, November 10. Parishioners of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate. Volunteers prepare food in the Keith Hall kitchen from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Grate Patrol volunteers then partner with the Salvation Army to deliver and serve the food from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. To volunteer, sign up here.

Food Pantry Stocking: On the 3rd Tuesday morning of each month, Christ Church parishioners partner with parishioners of The Episcopal Church of the Atonement (5073 E Capitol St SE, Washington, DC 20019), providing bagging and distribution of fresh produce to the local community and other nearby churches. Email Chrissy to sign up.

Women's Bible Study

All women of the parish and their guests are invited to participate in an exploration of the Book of Exodus, a captivating and poetic narrative that tells the story of God’s liberation of his people from slavery in Egypt and his gift of the law at Mount Sinai. The group will meet on Tuesdays, April 29, May 6 and 20, and June 3, at 6:00 p.m., in Keith Hall. Those who are unable to attend in person are welcome to participate virtually.
